History
OPD Group was founded in 2006 by Architect Amir Akhlaghi. OPD is a boutique studio for sustainable architecture, futuristic concepts, unique designs and interior design. Since then, Amir and the team have focused on working internationally — directing every project in line with our philosophy.
Our vision is to design today for the future generations through 3-layer, sustainable and efficient designs. Our mission is unique design that suits the site and the client — regardless of size, every project stands out.
The 3-Layer Philosophy
Visual Layer
The top layer — a modern, minimal design that gets sophisticated with cuts and the positioning of the actual volumes of the buildings and their respective placements.
Context Layer
Beyond the top layer lies the context layer — drawing inspiration from traditional architecture well suited to the land, region, climate and culture. Every division of space connects to the roots of the land and its people.
Tech Layer
The smart layer — every single wall, window or door is placed to reduce heat gain, maximize natural light and manage natural resources, while keeping beauty and providing stunning views.

The Founder
Amir Akhlaghi
A highly skilled and accomplished architect with over 29 years of experience. Amir's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish OPD in Dubai in 2006. Since 2010 he has also dedicated his passion to teaching at the school of architecture — passing his knowledge to the next generation.
His approach is deeply rooted in contextual sensitivity. Each project begins with an exploration of place — its culture, history, climate and spirit.
