About the project

The concept design of the facade is inspired from one of the unique traditional items in Iraq which is named “Shanasheel”. We realized that we can integrate this as an intelligent and sustainable element to modern design.

Incorporating it into our façade, we come up to a simple but meaningful context and a very unique and Iraqi original design which matches with the atmosphere — we can control the sun light and use a suitable green area which gives more comfort to the patients.

The massing of hospital is inspired by Islamic patterns found across Baghdad, familiar as an iconic texture for the people, shining from inside out that makes it more attractive during the night.
